    Tumblr, I have a question.

I have this novel, and there are quite literally a million and one grammatical errors in it. Okay, I am actually exaggerating by saying “a million and one,” but the reality is, I’m not even a quarter of the way through the book, and I’ve found at least twenty mistakes. At least. Minimum. Now, I’m accustomed to finding some type of error in every single book I have ever touched - which does annoy me, as there is someone getting paid just to edit each one of these books, although I know human error does occur - but the number of mistakes I’ve found in this novel is now at a ridiculous point and I don’t understand why nobody bothered to look it over before publishing and selling it. It’s seriously bothering me while I’m reading it. So, uh, if I were to take a red pen to the book, and correct all of the errors within, and then pack it up and ship it to the publisher along with a letter, what do you think would happen, if anything? Would they send me back a newer, hopefully edited and updated, version of the novel? Would they send me an apology letter? A refund? Or would nothing come of it at all except me losing a book? I’m curious if anyone’s had any experience with a book with this many grammatical errors and with this much frustration. I want to know what you’ve done about it, what happened, or just what your opinion is. No sassing or mocking me - I don’t need your snark. I just want to know what the best course of action besides “just dealing with it” or “pay for the book a second time” would be. I’m posting via email, so if the reply function isn’t enabled, just post a reply in my ask box. Thanks, Tumblr!
